How to Hunt Crickets and Complete Their Quest
Bug Evolution crickets are prey you can eat, and the Eat 17 Crickets quest awards 56 coins. Use that objective to give your hunting a clear target while you grow. Check your quest progress before heading out, then focus on feeding without getting caught by a larger bug.
Open the QUEST panel and look under QUICK for the cricket objective. Pay attention to its wording: this task asks you to eat crickets. Other objectives, such as biting ants, count a different action.
Work through the hunt like this:
- Check your current count. A counter showing 4/17 means you still need to eat 13 crickets.
- Attack a cricket and finish feeding on it. Follow through after the fight instead of immediately chasing another target.
- Watch the quest counter. Use its progress to judge how much hunting remains.
- Check your surroundings before continuing. Break off the hunt when a larger player approaches.
The 56 coins belong to the completed quest. Keep that reward separate from the food and growth you gain along the way.
Other quest goals give you specific alternatives between cricket hunts. Bite 14 Ants awards 42 coins, while Stay alive for 7 minutes awards 57 coins. After completing a goal, check the panel again: Eat 19 Beetles is another objective, worth 64 coins. Reaching Level 30 also triggers a quest-completion reward of 150 coins.

Choose Upgrades That Support Your Hunt
Leveling gives you opportunities to select traits and upgrades. Choose around the part of hunting that is slowing you down.

- Bite speed: Prioritize this when you want to spend less time attacking food targets.
- Movement speed: Take movement upgrades when traveling between targets or escaping other players becomes a problem.
- Stamina: Add stamina when sprinting and getting away are difficult.
- XP gain: Choose an XP-focused trait when your immediate goal is reaching your next evolution.
Avoid spending the whole trip chasing one target while easier food sits nearby. Glowing orbs also support leveling, so collect them between hunts rather than treating the quest as your only route to growth.
Check the Bug Tree when you are ready to pursue another form. Its evolution options include both insects and spiders, and unlocking another bug can involve level and coin requirements. Keep your next unlock in mind before spending your quest earnings.
For a concrete target, the housefly requires level 12 and 200 coins to unlock. Switching to that form starts its growth over, so plan around growing again before resuming your hunt. Look at the controls in the bottom-right corner when learning the new form; the housefly can fly around the map.
Stay Alive While Farming Crickets
Public servers hold up to 15 players, and other players can attack you while you hunt. Scan nearby activity before settling into a feeding session, especially while your creature is small.

Keep enough stamina available to retreat. Sprinting across the map only to arrive exhausted leaves you with fewer options when a larger predator turns toward you.
Use the map to watch for the server’s largest player and check area recommendations before moving farther out. Whispering Woods carries a Lv 15+ tag; follow those recommendations instead of entering a tougher area just to continue a hunt.
Watch for a red BOSS FIGHT banner, a boss timer, and a skull marker on the minimap in Whispering Woods. That encounter features EMPEROR SCORPION. Keep your cricket hunt away from the boss encounter if your immediate goal is finishing the eating objective.
Team up with friends when you want company while hunting. If crowded XP zones keep drawing stronger opponents, leave them and collect food elsewhere. Finish feeding when the area is clear, then move before another player makes you their next meal.
