Where to Find the Emperor Scorpion

The Bug Evolution emperor scorpion is the boss encounter in Whispering Woods, an area marked Lv 15+. Watch for the red boss banner, timer, and minimap skull to locate the fight. Prepare before heading toward that marker—you also have other players to watch out for while traveling.

Read the area banner when you enter the woods. Quest completion messages can appear at the same time, so look specifically for WHISPERING WOODS Lv 15+ rather than relying on whichever notification catches your eye first.

Use these cues to recognize the encounter:

  • Red BOSS FIGHT banner: Signals that a boss fight is underway.
  • Boss timer: Appears in the top bar during the encounter.
  • Minimap skull: Marks the boss fight location.
  • EMPEROR SCORPION name and IN COMBAT marker: Identify the target during combat.

The victory announcement reads “THE EMPEROR SCORPION FELL!” Look for that message to recognize the end of the encounter. Keep the named boss separate from the sand scorpions you encounter elsewhere.

Prepare Before Entering Whispering Woods

Use the area's Lv 15+ label as your preparation benchmark. Grow through the opening tutorial and nearby food before moving into the woods.

Start by collecting the tutorial's five orbs and evolving into a spider. Continue eating food and hunting manageable insects to gain XP. After killing prey, eat its body rather than immediately running toward another target.

Larger food orbs give more XP than smaller ones. Collect them while moving between hunting targets. Watch for the Night Hunt announcement, too: it grants double XP until sunrise, giving you another opportunity to grow before traveling to the woods.

Choose an XP gain trait when you want to speed up your growth. Movement and stamina upgrades deserve attention, too: larger players can chase you while you're traveling or feeding.

Keep coin goals moving alongside your leveling. The QUEST panel includes quick objectives such as:

  • Bite 14 Ants: Awards +42 coins.
  • Eat 17 Crickets: Awards +56 coins.
  • Stay alive for 7 minutes: Awards +57 coins.

Match your hunting to an active quest when possible. Claim daily and playtime rewards as well, and check the Bug Tree for the requirements of the creature you want to use.

Other goals include Eat 19 Beetles, worth +64 coins, and Reach Level 30, worth +150 coins. Check the panel again after completing an objective: another hunting goal can appear, letting you keep earning coins while gathering food and growing.

Avoid chasing bonus-zone XP while you're still struggling to survive ordinary encounters. Keep growing somewhere you can consistently collect food without being chased away.

Choose Upgrades and Bring Teammates

Bug Evolution offers damage, health, speed, and other upgrade choices as you level. Put points into bite speed to support your hunting, and take movement or stamina options when escaping stronger players is becoming a problem.

Check your creature's controls before approaching the boss marker. Different forms have different abilities, so learn the controls displayed on your screen before entering combat.

The housefly requires level 12 and 200 coins to unlock. Switching to it starts a new growth cycle, so make that change before setting out for the encounter. Grow through its early stages and practice flying rather than switching forms immediately before joining your teammates.

If you're using a flying form, practice taking off and landing while you're away from danger. Watch your stamina rather than assuming flight will always provide an escape.

Use the team menu to invite friends or other players before traveling together. Teaming up and hunting together are part of the game's core loop; arrange the group before approaching the active encounter.

Once you're in Whispering Woods, check the minimap and boss timer again. Head toward the skull marker with your teammates instead of getting sidetracked chasing unrelated prey.
