How to Hunt and Eat Ants
An ant kill is only part of the meal. Hunting Bug Evolution ants helps you gain XP, but feeding on their bodies afterward helps you grow faster. Bite quests can also give you a reason to hunt them while earning coins toward your next evolution.
Once you have hatched and evolved into a spider, you can attack ants and eat them. The early tutorial starts with collecting five orbs before evolving, so finish that opening step before looking for prey.
Use this hunting sequence:
- Find an ant without a larger player nearby. Check your surroundings before committing to the fight.
- Bite until you defeat it. Larger ants can fight back, so watch your health instead of assuming every encounter is harmless.
- Feed on the body. Keep eating after the kill to collect the additional XP.
- Check your next upgrade or evolution. Spend less time chasing another target if you already have a progression choice waiting.
If your spider has Pounce available, use it to close the distance against a fleeing target. Check the controls displayed in the bottom-right corner for your current creature.

Turn Ant Hunts Into Quest Rewards
Open the QUEST panel and check the QUICK tab before hunting. An ant objective can turn the same activity into both food gathering and coin progress.

These are examples of objectives and rewards that appear in the game:
| Quest | Objective | Coin reward |
|---|---|---|
| Bite 14 Ants | Bite 14 ants | +42 coins |
| Eat 17 Crickets | Eat 17 crickets | +56 coins |
| Eat 19 Beetles | Eat 19 beetles | +64 coins |
| Reach Level 30 | Reach level 30 | +150 coins |
Read the action word carefully: biting and eating are different instructions. For the ant quest, follow the bite counter rather than using the number of bodies eaten to judge your progress.
When an objective finishes, check the panel again. If your next food quest targets crickets or beetles, switch targets instead of continuing to hunt ants solely out of habit.
Choose Upgrades That Keep You Hunting
Leveling gives you trait choices, including options affecting damage, movement, stamina, and XP gain. Pick around the problem slowing your current run.

- Choose XP gain when it appears if your priority is reaching the next evolution.
- Increase bite speed to focus your upgrades on repeated attacks.
- Take movement speed or Long Legs when prey keeps escaping.
- Add stamina when sprinting leaves you unable to keep moving or escape danger.
Keep an escape reserve while approaching a larger ant. Spending your stamina reaching the fight leaves you with fewer options if another player arrives.
Avoid stretching a chase across the map. If a target keeps pulling away, return to nearby food rather than spending the whole hunt running.
Switch Food When Ants Slow You Down
Ants are one food option among many. You can also grow by collecting glowing orbs and feeding on caterpillars, eggs, crickets, beetles, and other bugs.
Use nearby orbs when chasing small prey takes too long. Collecting food without a fight lets you keep growing while avoiding a drawn-out hunt. Larger orbs give more than smaller ones, so prioritize them when the surrounding area is safe.
After defeating any edible bug, remember the feeding step. Moving straight from one kill to another leaves part of the meal behind.
As you grow, try larger prey without abandoning easy food. A bigger target is only useful if you can finish the encounter and eat without getting interrupted.
Watch for Players Before Committing
Servers hold up to 15 players, and other players can kill your creature while you hunt. Scan around the ant before attacking, then look again before settling in to feed.
Team up with friends to hunt together. Use the team interface to coordinate instead of assuming a nearby spider is friendly because it looks like yours.
Pay attention to area banners, too. Whispering Woods carries a Lv 15+ label. Stay with accessible food while you grow rather than following a fleeing ant into a tougher area.
Claim daily and playtime rewards when they become available. Daily reward coins help fund new creatures without requiring every minute of your session to be spent fighting.
