How to Get the Sun Spider
The Bug Evolution sun spider is a daily reward, so start with the reward screen when you enter the game. It follows the opening 50-coin reward, giving you a creature to return for the next day. Claim those coins before spawning in and starting your hunt.
The opening daily rewards follow this order:
| Daily reward | What you receive |
|---|---|
| First day | 50 coins |
| Next day | Sun spider |
Claim the first reward, then return the next day to collect the sun spider through daily rewards. Keep that daily claim on your login checklist alongside any available playtime rewards.

Keep Growing Between Daily Claims
While waiting for your next reward, develop your current creature and collect coins. Bug Evolution's Bug Tree lets you unlock new insects and spiders, while eating food increases your size and strength.

Start with the tutorial's five food orbs, then evolve and continue feeding. When hunting ants, eat their bodies after defeating them to gain more XP. Collect larger food orbs when you spot them, too—they give more than smaller ones.
Food targets extend beyond ants and glowing orbs. Caterpillars, pill bugs, eggs, acorns, and sugar cubes also provide opportunities to feed and grow. Attack manageable bugs, then consume their bodies instead of immediately moving to another target. Watch for the Night Hunt message, which announces double XP until sunrise, and use that window to keep feeding.
Use quests to put that feeding time toward coin rewards:
- Bite 14 Ants: Earn 42 coins by completing the biting objective.
- Eat 17 Crickets: Earn 56 coins by finishing the eating objective.
- Stay alive for 7 minutes: Earn 57 coins for surviving.
Pay attention to the objective's wording: biting and eating are different tasks. Track a quest that matches what you're already doing rather than chasing targets across the map.
The quest panel also includes Eat 19 Beetles, worth 64 coins, while reaching Level 30 awards 150 coins. Check the panel after completing an objective because another goal can appear in its place. Alongside quick quests, the game has hourly quests and creature-related goals you can track while working through the Bug Tree.
For a separate evolution target, the housefly requires level 12 and 200 coins. At level 12, the early choices include the housefly and grasshopper. Track the housefly in the tree to follow its requirements while collecting food and completing quests. The Black Widow is another unlock that costs 450 coins, giving you an additional reason to collect those quest payouts.
Changing creatures involves growing through their early stages again. The housefly begins as a larva before developing into its flying form, while the Black Widow starts as an egg. Keep collecting food after switching creatures instead of expecting their adult appearance and movement immediately. Once developed, the housefly can fly, but running out of stamina interrupts that escape option.
Protect that progress while you're small. Other players can attack you, and the map includes areas with recommended levels. Whispering Woods carries a Lv 15+ label, so read the area banner before venturing farther. Team up with friends to hunt together, and prioritize movement or stamina upgrades if escaping larger bugs is your immediate problem.
Leveling also presents trait choices, including damage, health, speed, and stamina upgrades. An XP-gain choice provides a 10% buff, while other options improve bite speed or movement. Choose XP gain to support leveling, or take movement and stamina options when you need help escaping attackers. Keep checking the controls displayed in the bottom-right corner as your creature develops.
In Whispering Woods, watch for a red BOSS FIGHT banner, a boss timer across the top, and a skull on the minimap. These cues identify the EMPEROR SCORPION encounter, which also uses an IN COMBAT marker. Keep your feeding route away from the encounter while building up a small creature, and use the minimap to stay aware of nearby danger.
